Peruvian cinematography sits within a small but globally credited tier. That tier has shaped how Andean and Amazonian light reads on screen over the past two decades. Inti Briones shot Claudia Llosa's Milk of Sorrow — the Berlin Golden Bear and Foreign Language Oscar nominee — and Madeinusa, along with Francisco Lombardi's later work. He now moves between Lima and global features.

Mario Bassino, Luis Otero Vega, Roberto Maceda Kohatsu, Daniel Sánchez López, Mauricio Vidal, and Pedro Carrillo fill out the senior Peruvian DP roster behind the recent feature wave. That wave includes Javier Fuentes-León's Contracorriente Sundance win, Melina León's Canción sin nombre Cannes selection, Óscar Catacora's Wiñaypacha, and the Tondero feature slate. The senior DPs in our Peru network trained with these names or came through the same PUCP and Universidad de Lima cinematography pipeline. Mid-tier DPs carry credits across América Televisión, Latina, Movistar Play, and the global commercial accounts shot through Miraflores agencies and Cinesphere stages.

Matching is brief-driven and works both ways. We open each conversation with your references, format, schedule, and budget, under DAFO and Ministerio de Cultura rebate rules where they apply. From there, we return a handpicked shortlist of three to five DPs. Their reels match the tonal range your project needs — high-contrast night exteriors in Lima's centro histórico, soft natural-light interiors in a colonial Cusco patio, observational documentary across the Sacred Valley or Madre de Dios, or stylised product work on a Cinesphere soundstage.

Our DPs work well across ARRI Alexa 35, Mini LF, Sony Venice 2, Burano, and RED V-Raptor systems rented through Lima houses. They bring their own ties with key gaffers, grip teams, and 1st ACs, so the camera team arrives pre-composed. Owner-operator DPs stand ready where budget suits a packaged camera kit. We check English fluency and prior global-shoot credits before booking. All jobs run under Peruvian freelance terms, with SUNAT carnets and IGV 18% handled cleanly.
