SCENE 01 / POWER SOLUTIONS

Power Solutions

Professional production power for your Peruvian production.

Scroll

Power solutions for film production cover portable power packs, battery systems, solar rigs, and hybrid setups that give reliable electricity in any location. The right choice depends on your load needs, noise limits, site factors, and the logistics of each shoot.

We check your power needs and source the right solutions from local providers. That might mean quiet power packs for dialogue scenes, high-capacity units for large lighting, or battery systems for remote sites. Our team handles delivery, fueling, and tech support across your shoot.

Generators, hybrid rigs and batteries for Lima, Andes and Amazon shoots

Power options in Peru have to cover a logistical spread few countries match. Lima studio interiors run on trusted 220V/60Hz mains feeds. Sacred Valley exteriors sit at 2,800m, where altitude cuts power-pack output. Amazon riverboat shoots out of Iquitos land each kilowatt by shallow-draft launch, and Andean passes above 4,500m have air too thin for naturally-aspirated diesel.

Our rental team builds power packages around that reality. We source Honda EU portable inverter sets and Cummins or Caterpillar tow plants from Audiovisual Project Perú, Filmtek Perú and Cinesphere Rentals. Baffled silent gensets in the 60-150kW range handle most narrative work, while hybrid battery rigs from Anton Bauer and IDX cover dialogue scenes where any genset is too loud. SUNAT carnet handling clears imported units through customs with no IGV cost on short-term gear, and our coordinator stays on call from spec through wrap.

On set, the picture shifts sharply by region. Coastal desert work in Paracas or Máncora mostly runs on full power-pack support, with fuel resupply from Lima or Trujillo every two to three days, and we plan the logistics to match. Cusco and Sacred Valley shoots above 3,000m get altitude-derated specs, because a 200kVA paper rating loses 10-15% of its real output at Andean elevation. We size up at quote time rather than find the shortfall mid-shoot.

Amazon work out of Puerto Maldonado or Iquitos pushes us toward smaller portable inverter sets and solar-charged battery rigs, since each kilo travels by boat. Licensed Peruvian electricians handle tie-ins to building power at studios and hotels, working with OSINERGMIN-compliant venue tech staff. Battery units stay charged for swap-out anywhere the schedule sends them.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What size generators do you provide?

We supply power packs from small 20kW portable units to large 500kW tow-behind rigs. Most narrative shoots use packs in the 60-150kW range, based on lighting needs. Our team can size the right unit for you.

Are your generators suitable for film sets?

Yes, we provide super-silent power packs built for film production. These units are baffled and housed to cut noise, so they can sit closer to set without hurting sound recording.

Can you coordinate tie-ins?

Yes, we can set up building tie-ins where suitable and permitted. Tie-ins often cost less for studio work or sites with enough electrical setup. Our team handles all planning with building management.

What battery systems do you offer?

We stock V-mount and Gold mount batteries from Anton Bauer, IDX, and others for cinema cameras and accessories. Our range also covers block batteries for larger gear and full charging solutions for multi-camera shoots.

Do you provide electricians?

Yes, we work with qualified Peruvian electricians skilled in film production. A local electrical crew keeps you compliant with Peru rules and keeps power distribution safe and smooth.

What about remote locations?

We can power shoots in remote locations across Peru. That means setting up power-pack support in the Andean highlands and Amazon regions, plus fuel supply and tech support for sites without easy grid access.

Productions in Peru that need this often pair it with Power Distribution Systems for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Lighting Equipment Rental and Audio Equipment Rental.
