SCENE 01 / POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS

Power Distribution Systems

Safe, reliable on-set power for film and TV production in Peru.

Scroll

Power distribution systems safely route electrical current across a set. That current flows from power packs or mains sources to your lighting, camera, and production gear. Pro distro boxes, cable runs, and breaker panels balance the loads, ground the system, and deliver safe power to each department.

We provide power distribution systems built around your production's electrical needs and set layout. Our team plans with your gaffer and best boy for each location on your schedule. That planning lines up the right capacity, cable lengths, and safety gear before you shoot.

220V/60Hz distribution from Lima depots through Andean altitude shoots

Power distribution in Peru runs on a 220V/60Hz standard. That standard mostly aligns with Brazilian and European film gear. Schuko-style and NEMA 5-15 hybrid outlets are common at hotel base camps. We carry connector adapter stock to bridge between Peruvian wall power and global rental kit.

Our distribution packages pull from Audiovisual Project Perú, Cinesphere Rentals, El Niño Rentals, and Filmtek Perú. That means main distro boxes, sub-distribution units, lunchboxes, and quads, all ready for the Peruvian gaffer's load plan. We add feeder cable stock and ramps to keep crew safe underfoot. That protection spans Plaza de Armas paving in Cusco, the cobbled streets of Centro Histórico Lima, and rough terrain on a Sacred Valley exterior. Licensed electricians size circuits against OSINERGMIN safety standards, document tie-ins, and balance phases across 32A and 63A breakers. That way, your gaffer's load plan turns safely into a panel layout the local crew can defend during inspections.

Power-pack support covers a wide range. Honda EU compact units can feed a single-camera commercial in Miraflores. At the top end, 500kVA Cummins or Caterpillar tow plants handle feature work on a coastal desert exterior in Paracas.

Sound-sensitive dialogue work gets the silent gensets we run from Lima rental depots. Altitude-derated units are needed above 3,000 metres. Cusco at 3,400m and Puno at 3,800m usually cost 10-15% capacity on naturally-aspirated power packs. Our team sizes up to match, so a 200kVA spec on paper still delivers the wattage your lighting plot needs. Each package ships with RCD protection, PAT-tested cable runs, and licensed electricians who know Peruvian rules. SUNAT carnet handling for imported distro gear and same-day swap-outs from the capital depot stay on call through wrap.

FAQ

Power Distribution Expertise

What generator sizes do you provide?

We supply power packs from 20kVA to 500kVA, including super-silent units for sound-sensitive shoots. Multi-generator setups cover larger loads. Battery-hybrid systems and tow-plant units handle many location needs.

How do you calculate power requirements?

We run detailed load calculations for your whole rig. That covers your lighting package, camera and DIT needs, video village, and every other electrical draw. We then add startup loads and the right headroom for safe, steady power.

Can you provide power at historic locations?

Yes, we specialize in powering shoots across Peru's most sensitive sites. These include UNESCO heritage sites, Inca ruins, colonial-era buildings, and protected archaeological zones. Our team works to each venue's needs, runs cabling that causes no damage, and meets all preservation guidelines.

Do you handle tie-ins to venue power?

We arrange tie-ins to venue electrical systems where needed. Our licensed Peru electricians work with the venue's tech staff. We check the available power, set up short-term connections, and handle safe disconnection after your shoot.

What about power for remote locations?

For remote exteriors without mains power, we provide full power-pack solutions. These cover fuel management, noise control, and multi-day operation. We plan the logistics so power never drops across your shoot.

How do you ensure electrical safety on set?

All gear is PAT-tested and well rated. We fit RCD protection throughout, use licensed electricians, and follow Peruvian electrical rules. Detailed records and safety briefings keep the whole crew aware.

Productions in Peru that need this often pair it with Power Solutions for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Grip Equipment and Portable Power Solutions.
