Underwater Filming Services
Certified dive shooting for marine, pool, and aquatic shoots across Peru. We cover the Pacific coast and the highland waters of Lake Titicaca.
An underwater camera operator captures footage below the water's surface, blending diving skill with pro cinematography. From the rich Pacific waters of the Humboldt Current to Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake, the work spans Peru. On each shoot, operators manage waterproof housings, underwater lighting, and the hard demands of aquatic filming. That means dealing with visibility, currents, and communication. This kind of dive work needs special training that goes well beyond standard camera use.
We connect you with certified underwater camera operators who hold pro diving credentials and film production experience. Our network covers Peru's Pacific coastline, the Paracas marine reserve, the Ballestas Islands, Lake Titicaca, and pro pool facilities in Lima. Each operator is equipped to deliver cinematic underwater footage safely and quickly.

On Location
Certified underwater cinematography across Peruvian Pacific, Amazon and altitude lakes
Underwater camera work in Peru centers on a handful of distinct aquatic environments. We pick operators with proven experience in each one. The Peruvian Pacific delivers big-game pelagic work out of Cabo Blanco and Máncora — marlin, dorado, and large bait balls. The Paracas National Reserve and Ballestas Islands hold the sea lion, Humboldt penguin, and pinniped colonies. These draw documentary commissions from Latin American natural-history TV networks.
Lake Titicaca, on the Puno border, sits at 3,812m. Work there needs altitude-rated dive operators trained to PADI, SSI, CMAS Three-Star, and HSE standards for high-altitude immersion. The Amazon black-water sites of Madre de Dios, Tambopata, and the Manú UNESCO biosphere hold the caiman, pink river dolphin, anaconda, and giant otter work. Natural-history producers shoot this on month-long blocks, with surface support routed through local jungle lodge operators.
Each operator on our register holds pro dive certifications matched to the depth and conditions of the brief. Behind them, the surface teams handle the official approvals. DICAPI covers marine permits, SERNANP grants protected-area access at Paracas and Manú, and ASL safety conventions cover any work in protected waters.
Housings are tied to the camera package agreed with the DP. The ARRI Alexa Mini, RED Komodo and V-Raptor, Sony Venice and FX6, and Blackmagic systems are common in our packages. We house them in Gates, SeaSeed, and Aquatica rigs, imported under SUNAT ATA carnets, with calibrated dome ports, underwater monitors, and their own LED and HMI lighting plans. Dive plans, risk assessments, safety-diver staffing, surface support, and emergency protocols are logged before any actor enters the water. This follows Peruvian diving rules and global film industry safety standards. Coordinators size the team to the brief. A job might be a single-day Ballestas Islands shoot or a multi-week Amazon black-water natural-history block that needs rebreather safety and altitude-rated decompression schedules.

FAQ
Professional Underwater Operations
What certifications do your underwater operators hold?
Our underwater camera operators hold pro PADI, CMAS, or equal certifications suited to the filming depths and conditions. Many also hold pro dive shooting certifications. For complex shoots, they add HSE or equal commercial diving qualifications.
What camera systems can you use underwater?
We run underwater housings for the ARRI Alexa Mini, RED Komodo and V-Raptor, Sony Venice and FX6, and Blackmagic cameras. Housing choice depends on your camera package, the features you need, and the depth. We also use special underwater cinema cameras.
Can you film with actors underwater?
Yes. We work with trained water safety coordinators and coach actors for underwater scenes. Non-diving actors can be filmed in controlled shallow water with safety divers. Complex underwater stunts need special planning and careful safety work.
What locations in Peru are suitable for underwater filming?
Peru offers many underwater filming locations. The Pacific brings clear water and marine life, while the Pacific coast adds dramatic conditions. Lakes and rivers give freshwater settings, and many studio tanks and pools suit controlled shoots.
How do you handle underwater lighting?
We use special underwater LED and HMI lights in waterproof housings. For pool and tank work, above-water lighting can reach down well. Deep or murky water needs its own underwater lighting packages, planned during pre-production.
What are the safety requirements for underwater filming?
All underwater work needs risk assessments, dive plans, certified safety divers, surface support, and emergency protocols. We follow Peruvian diving rules and film industry safety standards. Complex sequences may need a hyperbaric chamber on standby.
