SCENE 01 / LOCATION SCOUTING SERVICES
Location Scouting Services
Find perfect filming locations across Peru—from Lima to Cusco and beyond.
Finding the right location can make or break a production. That's why we've built a team of skilled scouts who know Peru inside out—from the colonial style of Lima's historic centre to the Andean peaks above Cusco. We handle it all: site research, logistics checks, and permit forms. Tell us what you want, and we'll find it.
Over the years, we've built a database of more than 5,000 locations across the country. But we don't just hand you a list and wish you luck. Our scouts go on the ground to check each site fits your needs, whether that's an Inca-era terrace in the Sacred Valley for a period piece or a sleek Miraflores rooftop in Lima for a modern campaign.
What really sets us apart is our network. For years we've built ties with property owners, local municipalidades, DAFO (Dirección del Audiovisual, la Fonografía y los Nuevos Medios), and Peru's Ministry of Culture. When you need to shoot somewhere that usually says no, we know who to call.

How We Work With You
You tell us what you're looking for, we go find it, and we handle the headaches in between—permits, negotiations, and logistics. By the time you show up to shoot, everything's ready.
Requirements Analysis
First, we sit down with you to learn exactly what you're after. We'll read through your script, look at reference images, talk about the budget, and pin down the visual style you want. No detail is too small at this stage.
Research & Reconnaissance
Once we know what you need, our scouts get to work. Our team pulls site options from the database and then inspects each one in person. We photograph every location from several angles and record the key details: power supply, parking, on-site conditions, and daylight patterns.
Presentation & Selection
For each shortlisted site, we build a detailed presentation. You'll get pro photos, a logistics breakdown, rough costs, and notes on the permits we'll need. Most clients find just what they want in the first round of options.
Coordination & Securing
Once you've chosen, we handle the rest. We negotiate fees with property owners, set up access schedules, manage contracts, and secure every permit you need. By the time your crew arrives, it's all sorted and ready to go.
You'll have one point of contact throughout—someone who knows your project and gives you straight answers when things change. And things always change.
What We Bring to the Table
Years of on-the-ground work across Peru, a database we built from scratch, and the kind of local ties that take time to develop.
Our Resources
5,000+ Locations On File
We've built this database for years. Every entry has photos, GPS coordinates, notes on access and power, and the best time of year to shoot. It's not just a list—it's real institutional knowledge.
On-Site Technical Surveys
Before we recommend anywhere, we check it ourselves—power capacity, truck access, parking, and ambient noise. These are the things that matter when you're actually trying to shoot there.
Permit Handling
Peruvian bureaucracy can be... Peruvian. We deal with the permit applications, the property releases, and the back-and-forth with local officials. You shouldn't have to.

Why Choose Fixers in Peru for Location Scouting
Local Expertise
Our scouts grew up in these places. Locals know the rural paths to hidden gardens and remote towns that most visitors never find. That local knowledge lets us offer locations you won't see in any other production's portfolio.
Complete Documentation
Each location report we deliver is thorough enough to hand straight to your line producer. It covers tech specs, permit needs, access routes, and nearby facilities. It's all there, organized and ready to use.
Rapid Response
Sometimes plans change at the last minute. We get it. That's why we offer a 48-hour turnaround on location reports, plus emergency scouting when you need to pivot fast during production.
Cultural Heritage Access
Getting permission to film at UNESCO sites, colonial haciendas, or national monuments isn't easy—but we've done it dozens of times. We know the application process, the right contacts, and how to present your project so it gets approved.
On Location
Vetted Peruvian locations from Pacific desert to Amazon canopy
Scouting in Peru rewards local instinct as much as a deep database. Our team works from a catalogue of more than five thousand pre-scouted sites. But each recommendation starts with a fresh visit, so we can confirm light direction, ambient sound, car access, and the realities of city and INC heritage permitting before a shortlist reaches your line producer.
We move fast through Lima's contrasting neighbourhoods — the colonial weight of the Centro Histórico, the bohemian streets of Barranco, the modern verticality of San Isidro and the cliffside Pacific views from Miraflores — and out to Cusco's UNESCO core, the Sacred Valley towns of Pisac, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, the salt terraces at Maras and the Inca circles at Moray. Each district carries its own forms through the local municipalidad and, where heritage is involved, the Ministerio de Cultura.
Peru's landscape locations bring their own rules. Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail run on INC permits with strict daily caps, the Nazca Lines allow drone-only access through DGAC clearance, the Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash need altitude protocols, and Manú, Tambopata and Paracas all sit inside SERNANP-administered reserves. Our scouts deliver production-ready packages within forty-eight hours, complete with daylight studies, power and parking notes, altitude and weather spares, and dry-season windows that hold between May and October across most of the country.
Long-standing ties with hacienda and community owners, the Belmond and Inkaterra hotel groups around Cusco and Machu Picchu, MINCETUR destination support and the city and regional authorities mean the locations we recommend are not just photogenic — they are achievable inside the schedule and budget you are working to.
FAQ
Location Scouting FAQ
Essential information for planning your location scouting project in Peru.
How long does location scouting take in Peru?
It really depends on what you need. A simple commercial shoot? We can usually turn around options in 2-3 days. Feature films usually need 1-2 weeks of dedicated scouting to cover every scene. Documentaries fall in between—usually 3-7 days. And if you're in a bind, we offer emergency scouting with 24-48 hour delivery.
What permits are required for filming at Peruvian locations?
The permits you need depend on your site's location and size. Local authorities require a filming permit for any public space. Owners of private sites must sign release forms. Historical monuments and UNESCO sites have their own application process through cultural affairs offices. We handle all of this for you—it's one of the main reasons shoots hire us.
What are typical location scouting costs in Peru?
Basic day-rate scouting runs between $300 and $500 per day. We also offer full packages that combine scouting across many sites with documentation and permit support. Those run $1,500-$6,000 based on scope. Remote locations add to the cost—figure $800-$2,500 per day for mountain or rural scouting. Permit fees themselves range from $150 to $1,500 based on the site.
Can you scout locations in remote areas of Peru?
We have several favorite spots that sit well outside the usual tourist areas. We often scout in the mountains, along the coast, and across rural countryside. Our team runs access reviews for far-flung locations, handles gear transport, and finds suitable housing for crew working in the area.
How many location options will we receive?
For each scene or setup you need, we usually present 3-5 vetted options. These aren't random suggestions—each one has been checked for logistics, permit availability, and budget fit. We'd rather give you fewer, better options than bury you in places that won't actually work.
What documentation do you provide for each location?
Each location package holds many high-resolution photos taken from several angles, plus tech survey data on power, access points, and facilities. It also covers logistics like parking, service locations, and site restrictions. For complex sites, we include site maps and shooting-position advice based on the light.
