SCENE 01 / SOUND DESIGN
Sound Design
Creative sound design that brings stories to life through immersive audio landscapes and compelling sonic experiences.
Sound design builds the full sonic world of a film. It works by choosing, making, and layering audio parts. Sound designers craft atmospheric textures, impact effects, transitions, and site-level soundscapes. These pull audiences into the story's world and lift the feeling of each scene.
We connect you with sound designers who bring creative vision and technical skill to your project's audio. Our team runs the process from the first spotting sessions through final delivery. This keeps your production's sonic identity bold, immersive, and moving.

On Location
Original sound design across Peru's audio-post cluster
Sound design for shoots in Peru draws on the community of designers based around Lima's audio-post cluster. Cinesphere Audio, the country's first Dolby Atmos-certified post bay, leads on theatrical and immersive projects. Tondero Post's audio bay, Audiovisual Project Perú, La Mecha Post, Audio Pro Perú and Cine Lab Lima handle broadcast, streaming and feature work across the chain.
Our team sets up spotting sessions early, scoping the project's sonic palette against its visual context. A Lima-set crime drama in Centro Histórico or San Juan de Lurigancho needs dense urban layering. That reads very differently from an Andean Sacred Valley feature, which calls for altitude, wind and condor presence. An Amazon documentary shot at Manú or Tambopata Reserve wants a jungle bed of insect, primate, river and rain texture. Coastal sequences at Paracas and Punta Sal lean on fishing-port activity and Pacific surf. Inca-period drama set at Sacsayhuamán, Ollantaytambo or Machu Picchu rests on silence and stone acoustic.
Designers build atmospheres, impact effects, transitions and creature work to picture. Where the budget allows, they record source material on location first — Lima plaza ambience, Cusco colonial church reverb tail, Amazon jungle dawn chorus, Andean wind at altitude. They then layer it with synthesis and library material in Pro Tools HDX sessions.
The work covers every genre Peruvian production exports. That includes festival arthouse bound for Locarno, Berlinale and the Cannes circuit in the Claudia Llosa lineage. It also covers today's crime thrillers for Netflix LATAM, Disney+ LATAM and Prime Video LATAM streaming originals. The slate spans nature and ethnographic documentary for global TV networks, archaeological-period drama on Inca and pre-Columbian stories, Afro-Peruvian musical biopics, IRTP serial drama, and music documentary on cumbia peruana and chicha. Our designers move easily between cinematic conventions and the looser palette that streaming originals invite.
We share works-in-progress at agreed points. Directors and editors give feedback early, before time is spent finishing each part. Picture changes flow through to the final mix without breaking the design palette. Mix-ready sessions arrive at the dub stage in clearly named stems — atmospheres, hard effects, designed elements, transitions, creature, mechanical, car. Each comes with session records and source-file history for the supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer. Global clients join reviews remotely via Source-Connect, with full-resolution picture and talkback from Los Angeles, New York or Atlanta on GMT-5-aligned Eastern US time. The project's sonic identity locks before the dub stage opens for the final mix.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is sound design and why is it important?
Sound design is the creative craft of building audio parts that don't exist in production recordings. These range from ambient atmospheres and site-level sounds to fantasy effects and creature voices. Great sound design makes worlds believable, boosts emotion, and creates memorable cinematic moments that audiences feel as much as hear.
Do you create original sounds or use libraries?
We use both. Our sound designers create original recordings and synthesized sounds for the unique parts that define your production. They also draw on top sound libraries to save time. Each project gets a custom sonic palette that serves its own creative needs.
Can you design sounds for specific genres like sci-fi or horror?
Fully. Our team has deep experience across every genre — science fiction, horror, fantasy, action, drama, and documentary. We know the sonic conventions and audience expectations of each genre, and we bring fresh creative ideas to every project.
How do you work with directors and editors?
We work closely with you throughout. Our team starts with spotting sessions to learn your vision, shares works-in-progress for feedback, and refines sounds to your direction. The design can lock to picture or handle editorial changes as your project evolves.
