SCENE 01 / AERIAL DRONE SERVICES

Aerial Drone Services

Licensed drone operators delivering cinematic aerial footage across Peru.

Scroll

Aerial drone services deliver cinematic overhead and sweeping perspectives across Peru's extraordinary terrain—from the peaks of the Andes to the Amazon basin. Drones provide cost-effective aerial coverage for establishing shots, landscape reveals, and any production requiring elevated viewpoints over Peru's breathtaking scenery.

We coordinate fully licensed aerial drone services that comply with Peruvian DGAC regulations. Our team manages RPAS registration, flight permits, and coordination with CORPAC air traffic control to ensure your production captures stunning aerial footage safely and legally at every location, including sensitive heritage sites.

DGAC-licensed RPAS operators from the Andes to the Amazon

Here is how this works in practice. Aerial drone services in Peru cover everything from sweeping reveals across the Cusco terraces, the Sacred Valley and Vinicunca's Rainbow Mountain through to coastal flights along the Paracas reserve, the Pan-American desert and Máncora's surf coast. Our pilots hold DGAC commercial RPAS certification under Resolución Directoral N° 1086-2015 — the Peruvian remotely piloted aircraft system framework — with operations registered through the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil and CORPAC airspace coordination for any flight path intersecting Jorge Chávez or regional airport approaches.

Here is the short of it. Gear runs from DJI Inspire 3, Mavic 3 Pro Cine and Matrice 30 sites through to Freefly Alta X heavy-lift rigs carrying ARRI Alexa Mini LF and RED Komodo bodies, with aerial DPs drawn from the crews that flew on Llosa's magical-realist features, the Wiñaypacha Andean unit work and the recent PromPerú destination films. FPV pilots trained on Lima motocross and rally circuits handle proximity work for automotive brand films and tourism content. Our coordinators draw on the broader Peruvian operator pool servicing the Discovery, BBC and National Geographic Amazon units that base out of Puerto Maldonado and Iquitos. Dry season May through October remains the optimal flight window across the highlands.

Here is the breakdown. Peruvian airspace carries multiple regulatory layers that shape every flight plan. Machu Picchu is good closed to ground-level drone work, with limited exceptions secured through the Instituto Nacional de Cultura alongside SERNANP for the surrounding sanctuary; the Nazca Lines remain drone-only access for media because heritage protections prohibit ground-level filming entirely. Chan Chan, Caral and Kuelap each carry their own INC heritage protocols, and SERNANP authorisation governs Manú, Tambopata and Paracas reserve work, with MTC and SUNAT carnet records handled for imported aerial cinema rigs.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. We manage the DGAC submissions, the CORPAC notifications and the coordination with Lima Jorge Chávez control where flight paths intersect approach corridors, and night drone operations, FPV chase sequences through Lima's Barranco and Miraflores districts and multi-drone activations for Mistura food festival and Lima Fashion Week all sit within the service line. DAFO and Ministerio de Cultura paperwork run in parallel for qualifying productions, IGV 18% applied to local invoicing, and MINCETUR destination-filming support secured where the brief aligns with PromPerú goal.

FAQ

Aerial Cinematography Expertise

What drone certifications do your pilots have?

All our pilots hold Peruvian aviation authority certifications required for commercial drone operations. Many also hold certifications from other aviation authorities. We maintain full documentation including flight logs, insurance, and operational manuals.

Can you fly drones in cities like Lima?

Urban drone flying in Peru requires special authorizations. Lima has significant restricted airspace, but we can obtain permits for specific locations with advance notice. We handle all regulatory submissions and coordinate with authorities.

What cameras can you mount on drones?

We operate everything from integrated camera systems like DJI Inspire and Mavic lines to heavy-lift platforms carrying RED, ARRI Mini, and other cinema cameras. We match the platform to your image quality requirements and shot complexity.

Do you provide FPV drone services?

Yes, we have experienced FPV pilots for dynamic shots including chase sequences, indoor flying, and high-speed proximity work. Our FPV team uses purpose-built drones with cinema-quality cameras for broadcast-ready footage.

What about night aerial filming?

We're authorized for night drone operations with proper lighting systems, enhanced safety protocols, and appropriate certifications. Night flying requires additional planning and authorization, so please discuss requirements early.

How far in advance should we book?

Standard aerial shoots can often be arranged with 1-2 weeks notice. Complex operations requiring special authorizations, restricted airspace access, or multi-drone setups may need 3-4 weeks for proper planning and approval.

Productions in Peru that need this often pair it with Helicopter Filming, High Speed Filming, and Cable Cam Systems for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Camera & Cinematography and Drone Videography.
