SCENE 01 / DRONE VIDEOGRAPHY

Drone Videography Services

Licensed aerial filming across Peru with cinema-grade equipment and full permit coordination.

Scroll

Drone videography captures sweeping aerial views that build scale, reveal landscapes, and add cinematic production value to any project. Peru offers awe-inspiring places to fly, from the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu to the Nazca Lines, the Colca Canyon, and Lima's dramatic Pacific coastline. Modern cinema drones deliver smooth footage that once needed a helicopter and a far bigger budget.

We source DGAC-licensed drone operators and gear packages that meet the rules of Peru's Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil and fit your creative needs. Our team handles operator sign-ups, CORPAC airspace planning, and Ministry of Culture permits for archaeological sites. That lets you add stunning aerial scenes to your project with full confidence.

DGAC-licensed aerial cinematography from Machu Picchu to the Amazon

Aerial cinematography in Peru runs inside a layered set of rules. DGAC (Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil), under Resolución Directoral N° 1086-2015, governs commercial RPAS pilot certification. The INC and Ministerio de Cultura must pre-approve heritage-site overflight at Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley citadels, Caral, Chan Chan, Kuelap, and the Nazca Lines. At these sites, drones have largely replaced helicopter passes for most documentary and commercial work. Each site bans drone flights except under specific INC permits. SERNANP controls the airspace inside the Tambopata, Manú, and Paracas reserves.

Our pilot teams build that paperwork into the schedule instead of scrambling for it the week of the shoot. Every flight is run by DGAC-recognised operators who carry current commercial pilot certificates and valid liability insurance. They also register with CORPAC for controlled-airspace planning around Jorge Chávez in Lima and the regional aerodromes at Cusco, Arequipa, Trujillo, and Iquitos.

The rigs scale to the shot. DJI Inspire 3 and Mavic 3 Cine handle tight urban work around Lima's Miraflores and Barranco cliffs and fast establishers. Freefly Alta X covers mid-weight builds. Heavy-lift cinema rigs carry RED Komodo and V-Raptor, ARRI Alexa Mini, or Sony Venice 2 bodies for cinema-grade aerial coverage that matches the ground unit frame for frame.

Every brief gets a logged flight plan, not a generic gear list. That covers Colca Canyon condor passes, Nazca Lines geoglyph reveals, Cordillera Blanca ridge flyovers, Sacred Valley terrace pulls, Amazon canopy traverses out of Puerto Maldonado, Pacific-coast Paracas peninsula coverage, and Lake Titicaca reed-island establishers. Multi-site days pair aerial units with ground Steadicam and camera-car tracking on the Pan-American Highway. They can also add riverboat rigs on the Madre de Dios or helicopter work with Aerolima and Heliperu. Those shoots run under shared communications, weather backup, and SUNAT ATA carnet records when foreign-owned gear is in the country.

FAQ

Professional Drone Operations

What permits are required for drone filming in Peru?

Drone filming in Peru needs aviation-authority operator sign-ups, pilot certification, and location-specific approvals. Flights in controlled airspace, urban areas, or near airports also need NOTAM and municipal permits. Our team handles all permit planning for your production.

What camera systems do your drones carry?

Our fleet ranges from DJI Inspire and Mavic models with built-in cameras to heavy-lift rigs carrying RED Komodo, ARRI Mini, and Sony Venice bodies. Camera choice depends on your quality needs, shot complexity, and budget.

Can you fly drones in Lima and other restricted areas?

Yes, we can, with the right approvals. Lima and many urban areas sit under airspace limits that need municipal permits and aviation-authority sign-off. Our team has secured permits for restricted zones before and can advise on what is feasible during planning.

How do weather conditions affect drone filming?

Drones need the right weather: no rain, moderate winds (usually under 25-35 km/h, depending on the platform), and clear visibility. We watch conditions closely and build weather backup days into the schedule. Some platforms can still fly in tougher conditions.

What insurance coverage do your drone operations have?

Every flight carries full liability insurance that meets Peruvian rules (a minimum of $1M, usually $5M for production work). We can provide certificates of insurance for your production records.

Can drones work alongside other camera platforms?

Yes. We run drone units alongside ground cameras, cranes, cars, and helicopters. Clear safety rules keep aerial and ground teams apart and in constant contact. Multi-platform shoots just need extra planning up front.

Productions in Peru that need this often pair it with Time-lapse & Hyperlapse, Multi-Camera Shoots, and Steadicam & Gimbal Operators for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Cable Cam Systems and Wire Cam Systems.
