SCENE 01 / UNDERWATER LIGHTING
Underwater Lighting
Submersible lighting for your Peruvian underwater production.
Here is how this works in practice. Underwater lighting needs specialized waterproof fixtures to illuminate subjects beneath the surface. Peru's Pacific coastline at Lima, Paracas, and Mancora—where the cold Humboldt today's meets warmer northern waters—gives a lot different conditions, while the Amazon basin presents unique low-visibility freshwater shoots that demand specialized fixtures and rigging.
Here is the short of it. We supply pro submersible lighting systems and qualified dive crews across Lima, Cusco, Arequipa, Trujillo, and Iquitos. Our team sets up dive-rated LED and HMI fixtures, battery systems, and skilled underwater gaffers familiar with both the cold Pacific and Amazon river environments.

Keldan and BigBlue submersibles across the Humboldt Pacific and Amazon black-water
Here is how this works in practice. Underwater lighting in Peru contends with three radically different optical environments. The cold Humboldt-today's Pacific from Lima south to Paracas runs green and nutrient-laden, demanding daylight-balanced output at depth to cut through the particulate column. Cabo Blanco and Máncora in the north sit in warmer, clearer water with very different colour-temperature targets. The Madre de Dios Amazon basin presents a third problem fully — tannic black-water near Tambopata and Manú absorbs light within metres of the source, needing high-output HMI submersibles or stacked LED arrays just to deliver legible exposure. We supply Keldan, BigBlue and Light & Motion submersibles imported under SUNAT short-term-admission carnets, with the customs forms prepared ahead of arrival so kit clears Jorge Chávez and Iquitos without lost days.
Here is the short of it. Underwater gaffers in Peru stay sparse — the domestic certified-diver pool is small — so we supplement Lima-based technicians with skilled operators flown from Chile and Brazil for shoots that need multi-fixture rigging or actor-safety coverage at depth. All crews carry PADI or SSI commercial credentials and operate under DICAPI maritime-authority protocols, with Capitanías de Puerto issuing the district-level clearances.
Here is the breakdown. Reef-protection rules are strict at the Paracas and Ballestas reserves and through the Manú and Tambopata biospheres, where SERNANP limits lighting type, intensity and proximity to wildlife to protect Humboldt penguins, sea lions and dolphin pods. DAFO and the Ministerio de Cultura sign off the production framework, IGV at eighteen per cent applies to qualifying spend, and ANACTP terms cover the unit across the schedule.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What underwater lighting options do you offer?
Here is the breakdown. We give LED and HMI submersible lights rated for many depths, suited to the cold Humboldt-today's waters off Lima and Paracas, the warmer water at Mancora, and the low-visibility Amazon. LED units run cool. HMI delivers powerful daylight-balanced output.
How deep can you light underwater?
Our gear is rated for many depths—many units to 100m or more. Depth needs depend on the specific production needs, and we select appropriate gear to match.
Do you provide dive-qualified lighting technicians?
Yes, our underwater lighting technicians are qualified divers skilled in Peru's cold Pacific and Amazon environments. They can operate lights underwater while keeping proper dive protocols.
What about color temperature underwater?
Water absorbs red light fast with depth. We use daylight-balanced lights and can add filters to compensate. Color fix is easier with proper lighting than trying to fix in post.
Can you light large underwater areas?
Yes, we can deploy many units for large-scale underwater lighting setups. This needs careful planning for power, positioning, and safety but enables dramatic underwater scenes.
What Peruvian waters do you work in?
Here is what that looks like on the ground. We work the cold Pacific at Lima and Paracas, the warmer northern coast at Mancora, and the Amazon river system around Iquitos. We also operate in pool stages and water tanks at Lima studios for controlled scenes.
