Communication Systems
Professional on-set communication equipment keeping your production coordinated and running smoothly.
Production communication kit keeps every team linked across sets, stages, and remote locations. Pro intercom systems, walkie-talkies, and wireless networks drive real-time planning across the shooting day. This keeps directors, assistant directors, camera, sound, and production management in sync.
We supply and configure communication packages scaled to your crew size and location needs. Our team handles channel planning, gear hand-out, and setup. Every team then stays in touch from first call to wrap each day.

MTC-licensed radios, Riedel intercoms and Iridium satphones for Andean and Amazon shoots
Communication packages for Peruvian production cover a wider working range than most countries demand. In Lima and major urban locations, our rental team supplies Motorola digital radios, Clear-Com and Riedel intercom systems with wireless beltpacks, IFB feeds for talent, and surveillance earpieces for AD departments. This is the same broadcast-quality kit a feature crew expects on a US or European set. Audiovisual Project Perú, Filmtek Perú and Hytera distributors in the capital hold enough stock for shoots running 60-80 radios across many departments.
MTC (Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Peru's frequency regulator, like the FCC) handles short-term production licensing. Our team files the requests during prep, so legal frequencies are ready before crew call. Channel programming happens before delivery, so departments reach set with radios already set up.
Remote and high-altitude work changes the communication picture. Past Tambopata in the Amazon, and above 4,500m on Andean passes between Cusco and Puno, there is simply no cell coverage. Iridium satphones are then needed for unit-base contact and emergency response. We supply them as standard on any shoot beyond Sacred Valley altitude or the Madre de Dios jungle line.
Repeater systems extend two-way radio coverage through Andean valley terrain where line-of-sight fails. Multi-site planning links Cusco base camp to the Aguas Calientes secondary unit during Machu Picchu work. Stunt planning communications layer onto shoots running car or animal work in the Sacred Valley. Battery management, on-site setup, and replacement units are all handled by our technicians through wrap. Backup stock stays at the Lima depot for next-flight resupply, wherever the schedule sends the unit.
FAQ
Production Communication Expertise
What communication systems do you provide?
We supply complete communication packages: two-way radios (Motorola digital and analog), production headsets, Clear-Com and Riedel intercom systems, IFB feeds for talent, and specialty planning systems. Gear ranges from basic walkie-talkies up to broadcast intercom rigs.
How many radios do I need for my production?
Radio needs depend on crew size and how complex the shoot is. Typical feature shoots need 30-80 radios to cover every department. Our team reviews your needs and recommends the right count with backup units. We can add more gear as the shoot goes on.
Can you provide coverage in remote locations?
Yes. We design systems for tough locations using repeaters, long-range gear, and multi-site planning. When possible, our team surveys sites in advance to spot coverage gaps and roll out the right fix.
Do you handle frequency licensing in Peru?
We handle all frequency licensing with MTC (Ministry of Transport and Communications). This covers short-term production licenses, frequency planning, and compliance records. Lead time varies by location and which frequencies are free.
What about intercom systems for video village?
We provide complete video village communication, including director-to-set links, camera talkback, script supervisor feeds, and department planning. These systems can tie into wireless video for full tracking and communication.
How do you handle equipment for multiple units?
For multi-unit shoots, we build communication plans with separate channels per unit, shared frequencies for key staff, and cross-unit planning. Each unit gets a complete gear package.
